End of Abyss

Briefing

Open the sector routes
Facility halls, official still

End of Abyss puts Cel, a young combat technician, into a derelict underground facility on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store. Section 9 Interactive in Malmö developed the game, Epic Games Publishing ships the Epic and Xbox editions, and the PlayStation seller line is Epic Games Inc. The shared release date is 1 October 2026, and the US list price on PlayStation and Xbox is 29.99.

Cel moves through a top-down facility where machines still run and the things in the halls are not fully human. Combat is twin-stick shooting. The opening weapon is the Pulse Gun. Growth comes from upgrading gear, from the Scanner, and from tools that open walls you walked past earlier.

What you carry into the first sector

A new save begins with the Pulse Gun already equipped. That gun is the unmissable starter, and it is enough for the first rooms of the Outer Sector. The Riot Breaker is the next practical pickup, sitting on Habitation Sector F1 in a room reached through an open window near Security, on the way to the first Fast Travel Shuttle shutter. Until that shotgun is in the loadout, fights are about spacing and the energy pistol you spawned with.

The facility is not a single corridor. Outer Sector connects with Maintenance. Habitation Sector has the lift that later opens toward the Infirmary. Factory East holds the Security Rifle behind a Factory Keycard and an Explosive Charge. Lower Levels is treated as the final story stretch, and the Incinerator on Lower Levels F1 is required to keep moving and to burn the Parasitic Spire for the Infirmary Key. The Support Gun and the Particle Disruptor are optional returns, not gates on the critical path.

How the Scanner changes a cleared room

The Scanner is the named tool for hidden paths. Upgrading it is the trophy Second Sight. Sealed routes are not all open on the first walk. An Explosive Charge opens walls and floors, including the left wall on the way to the Security Rifle and the Maintenance F2 drop that leads back toward the Outer Sector shuttle. Keycards are separate from charges. The Factory Keycard opens a small Factory East room. The Infirmary Key comes from burning the Parasitic Spire. The Restricted Access Keycard, found in a small room on Infirmary F1, opens the door to Infirmary B1.

Fast Travel Shuttles turn that backtracking into a route instead of a hike. Habitation, Factory East, and the Outer Sector each have a shuttle mentioned with the weapon pickups. Shuttle Station Cleared is the fight against Husk Cluster. Shuttle Network Restored is the act of bringing every shuttle station online. If a door ignored you on the first visit, the usual reason is a missing charge, a missing keycard, or a Scanner upgrade you have not bought yet.

Trophies, the logbook, and the platforms

The trophy set has 44 rows: one platinum, three gold, twelve silver, and twenty-eight bronze. Twenty-six of those rows are hidden. The platinum End of Abyss is obtain every other trophy, and it sits with the gold rows You Did It, The End, and Completionist. You Did It is the normal ending. The End is the secret ending and is itself hidden. Completionist is the full logbook: creatures, notes, Data Shards, and codes. Those four lists are also their own silver trophies, Zoologist, Archivist, Defragmented, and Cryptographer. No public count says how many creatures or shards exist, so the logbook page tracks the actions rather than a fake total.

PlayStation lists one player with optional online play, and the PS5 version uses DualSense vibration and trigger effects. Xbox rates the game ESRB Teen for blood and violence, PEGI 16, with a max download size of 5987225600 bytes and no add-ons. The PC edition is the Epic Games Store listing. Its Windows minimum and recommended fields are both TBC, and its catalog language line is audio English and text English. Screen text on PlayStation covers sixteen languages, including Indonesian and both Spanish variants. Ukrainian, Thai, and Vietnamese are not in that screen list.

A practical order for a first completion

Start in the Outer Sector and learn the Pulse Gun before you chase optional guns. Take the Riot Breaker on the way to the first shuttle in Habitation. In Factory East, spend the Factory Keycard and one Explosive Charge on the Security Rifle rather than saving every charge for later, because Focused asks for a multi-kill with a single Security Rifle shot and the rifle is also a normal combat upgrade. Keep one charge in mind for the Maintenance floor that drops you toward the Outer Sector shuttle when you are ready for the Support Gun. Fallen Crew is the hidden bronze for finding that gun.

Do not skip the Incinerator when Lower Levels opens. It is the story weapon on F1, it burns the Parasitic Spire for the Infirmary Key, and Kill It With Fire plus Burn Them All both care about fire. After the key, the Infirmary is optional and late. Restricted Access Keycard, a boss, and a burned wall stand between you and the Particle Disruptor on Infirmary B1. Overload is the hidden bronze for upgrading that weapon. Power Up is a full upgrade on any one weapon. Super Power is every weapon fully upgraded, so the two optional guns matter if you want that silver.

Endings can wait until the logbook and the map are in progress. Master Explorer is every room. Dungeon Crawler is every vault, and Vault Entry is only the first one. Battle Tested clears every lockdown encounter. The secret ending trophy The End is hidden, so a normal clear for You Did It is not the whole gold set. When the other forty-three rows are done, the platinum pops. Use the sector graph when a shuttle ride drops you in a wing you do not recognize, and use the weapon table when a charge is burning a hole in your pocket and you want the pickup that spends it.
